Edinburgh International Festival 1999 Tonight's Schumann programme includes the famous and well-loved
Piano Concerto first performed by Clara Schumann , who said of the work, "I played it twice and found it magnificent. The piano is interwoven with the orchestra in the most subtle way - one cannot imagine the one without the other."
