Cecil B. DeMille , master of spectacle, directed this epic period drama about the great sailing ships plying the coasts of America and the dangers which befell their crews. In one sequence Wayne and Milland come to grips with a giant squid with 14-feet long tentacles - one of the most frightening monsters ever created by a Hollywood property department.
