Handel's Joshua
In the summer of 1747 the management of London's King's Theatre reported that Handel was restored "to perfect health and really grown young again. "He wrote two new oratorios, Alexander Balus and Joshua, both of which were performed at Covent Garden the following spring. Paul Guinery presents a performance of Joshua recorded earlierthis week in St
John's, Smith Square, as part of the Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music.
