Mr. Craw has been kidnapped by some students involved in a Rectorial Election. It is, unfortunately for Mr. Craw, a case of mistaken identity. Two other young men on a tramping holiday, Jaikie and Dougal, seek hospitality at the house in which Mr. Craw is being held prisoner. They find themselves acting as messengers for the unfortunate man when they discover that Mr. Craw does not want anyone to know what has happened to him.
