The story of a Welsh brass band that went to Paris by Gwyn Thomas
Produced by Peter Duval Smith
This new tale of the Rhondda by Gwyn Thomas differs from Gazooka and The Singers of Meadow Prospect in being a fiction rather than a reminiscence. Nevertheless, some of the heroes of those earlier programmes reappear: Willie Silcox the Psyche (' that dowser of mental decline '), Gomer Gough the Gavel (' when he passed a chapel the deacons were out with fresh distemper '), Edwin Pugh the Pang (' that melancholy hammer of the morally untidy '). This story tells of how the Meadow Prospect Jubilee Band was reconstituted, and of what glory it brought to the town.
