Hollywood on Trial

on BBC One London

It's a very simple question: Are you, or have you ever been, a member of the Communist Party? Any real American would be proud to answer that question.
This abridged version of a film first shown in Omnibus tells what happened in 1947 when the House Committee on Un-American Activities came to Hollywood to track down communist subversion in the film industry. Heads of studios and stars spoke up before the Committee, but one group of writers and directors resisted-the Hollywood Ten.
