'Roses'
C. H Middleton and Courtney Page
C. H Middleton is to bring to the microphone one of the most important figures in the rose world to talk about roses. Courtney Page has been Secretary of the National Rose Society for over twenty years. When he took over, the membership was 3,000; under his initiative and enthusiasm it has grown to 15,000.
In 1920, a well-known rose grower at Portadown, Northern Ireland, introduced a new rose and called it after him. The 'Courtney Page ' is scarlet-crimson, sweet-scented, and was very popular in its day. A drawing of it is reproduced on the previous page.
