Mining '
PROFESSOR moss is a Warwickshire man and has had practical experience of mining on the Cannock Chase, North Staffordshire and South Yorkshire coalfields before coming to the University of Birmingham as Assistant Professor of Mining in 1920. He has occupied the Chair since 1922, and is a member of the Council of the Institution of Mining Engineers and Vice-President of South Staffordshire Colliery Managers' Association. The University of Birmingham has a miniature mine for practical instruction.
