Sue Douglas succeeded in persuading her parents to let her go on with her job at Bob's garage. Dr. Dale told Caradoc that the inquest on Mr. Haynes had been postponed pending further inquiries. Alec and Miriam were trying to get Janet out of the country immediately, but Janet herself wanted to stay, feeling she would help Caradoc. Caradoc went to the police, made a statement about his fight with Mr. Haynes, and was charged with manslaughter. At the Magistrate's Court he was remanded on bail for eight days. David let Mr. and Mrs. Owen know what was happening and they came up from Wales.
