Bella comes to the great city of Glasgow to finish her education and seek a husband. She goes to all sorts of places, such as the docks, a parliamentary meeting in St. Andrew's Hall, newspaper offices, and even the Town Council itself. She is wooed, but refuses;all offers. Finally, she accepts Mr. Garnet Hill whom, curiously enough, she has not been particularly interested in throughout the revue. She decides finally that he is typical of Glasgow.
This sparkling revue of the second city is written mainly in verse by William Jeffrey , one of Scotland's foremost poets and a member of the editorial staff of the Glasgow Herald.
