From St. Mary's, Warwick. Conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. Joseph McCulloch
' If only I had the pluckl ' Successful living is largely courage in the face of life. Do you agree? Between us and what we want to be there is always a mountain of fear-the mountain which only faith can move. What distinguishes the saint from his fellow-sinners ? Is it not primarily a unique kind of courage? Take, for instance, St. Paul. Why was it that nothing and nobody could get him down for long? What was the secret of his courage, of his power to take blow after blow and yet never be counted out? In what way was his courage different from that of people who, it is said, ' do not know what fear is ? ' Our commonest problem is how to conquer fear. Has the saint got the answer? If so, where does he get it? 'I can do all things, through Christ who strengthened me.' How does this work out in ordinary life?
