Common as Muck 9.30pm BBC1
William Ivory's hard-hitting drama series achieves the rare feat of combining tragic storylines with moments of high comedy. This fourth episode makes great play of cutting between the light and the dark, gradually increasing the pace and intensity. The lads are now in alliance with property developer Dougie Hodd (Terence Rigby) whose cash helps to finance their new venture - a hair and beauty salon. But it seems that Ken (Neil Dudgeon) and Sharon (Kathy Burke) have very different ideas of how to make the business a success. With the pressure mounting, they can't afford to keep paying wages to Jonno (Stephen Lord) and John Parry (Roy Hudd). But Parry cannot cope when he falls prey to a a loan shark.
