Fun at One became a lunchtime spot on Radio 1 with the advent of Paul Burnett. Ron Belchier, who produced the show at the time decided that a short daily injection of humour would not go amiss at 1.0 pm and this has subsequently become a popular feature. Although it is not a request spot, letters are always welcome and helpful as a guide to what listeners want to laugh at. There are no hard and fast rules - if it's funny it will be broadcast, whether speech or music, American or British ... BBC Records are at present exploring the possibility of making a Fun at One compilation LP to reflect what has been happening on the show.
