Mr. Kraft surveys several aspects of the development of Africa, and gives his reasons for believing that the continent's greatest potential contribution to the world lies not in the sphere of economics or defence but in attempts to bring to African peoples ' the only kind of progress which matters: the flowering of the spirit.'
