Voted 'Actress of the Year' in the stage version of Maxwell Anderson's play Joan of Lorraine, Ingrid Bergman eagerly accepted the opportunity of playing Joan on the screen. Victor Fleming, of Gone With the Wind fame, directed this lavish Technicolor production which won three Academy Awards and gave Jose Ferrer his first major film role.
