Julian Joseph is joined by the double bassist Peter Ind to examine the career of Chicago-born pianist and teacher Lennie Tristano , who died 25 years ago this week and whose recordings of the 1940s and 50s extended the language of jazz and included such innovations as the first recording of freejazz - in 1949 - and experiments with multi-track recording.
