Machinery for the market-garden. Talk by Geoffrey Tawell
There has been lately a considerable amount of correspondence in the press concerning the place of the small man in mechanised agriculture, and the displacement of the small man by machinery in large scale agriculture. Geoffrey Tawell , who has broadcast several times to market gardeners in this series, will show that the small man with the right equipment can intensify production in this country to a greater extent than is possible with the most up-to-date large scale agricultural machinery. He will advise the small man as to what machinery he should buy.
Tawell is now farming intensively on his own in Bedfordshire, and was previously for some years on the staff of the Hertfordshire Agricultural Institute of St. Albans.
