Joyce's Women. Author Edna O'Brien explores the fictional and real women in Joyce's life, from his mother ("he loved her with the same fervour as he had loved the Virgin Mary , women without stain") to Molly Bloom ("all rhapsody and appetite, her sexual odyssey a torrent of desire, drollery and acumen").
