As part of this year's Brighton Festival,
Sarah Walker presents two concerts given in St Nicholas's Church by the ensemble
Ixion. The programme focuses on featured Brighton Festival composers
Robert Saxton and Stephen Montague and on premieres of specially written works by Tara Guram and Alison Kay. Also featured are the premiere of a Brighton Festival commission to celebrate its 40th anniversary-Andrew Toovey's Mus/c for the Painter Jack Smith -the UK premieres of Ettelijke Bange Einden by Michael Finnissy , Chris Newman 's Broken Promises and works by young European composers. With Rowland Sutherland (flutes), Andrew Smith (clarinets) and Antony Gray (piano).
