Queen Victoria's Last Exotic Friendship

1887 was Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee year as monarch, and her tenth as Empress of India. To mark the occasion, the Queen received a gift from the country she loved Adbul Karim , the first in a line of native Indian servants.
