1978: the usual conflicts and jealousies of a Pennsylvania High School are overshadowed when their mysterious principal, Jay Smith is arrested by the police. A discovery of drugs, pornography and guns in his cellar begins an investigation for multiple murder which keeps coming back to the same point - the passionate and charismatic English professor Bill Bradfield , Smith's colleague and staunchest supporter.
