A Dream of Poppies

on BBC One London

Narrated by Magnus Magnusson
For almost two decades, between 1932 and 1949, two British explorers were given free access to the mysterious and forbidden world of Tibet. Major George Sherriff and Frank Ludlow were plant collectors-the last of the great gentlemen amateurs. But they brought back more than plants - a unique film account in colour of a way of life that has now vanished forever.
