Medicine Man

on BBC One London

Ecological drama starring Sean Connery, Lorraine Bracco

A cold reception greets scientist Rae Crane in the humid South American rainforest, because reclusive and unorthodox biochemist Robert Campbell brooks no interference with his work. On the trail of a medical miracle, he grudgingly takes the determined young woman along but soon the mismatched pair find that instead of fighting each other they must engage in a desperate battle against time and the march of "progress".
