The British Wireless for the Blind Fund makes this appeal on Christmas Day for funds to provide wireless sets for the blind of England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Every year more than four thousand new sets are needed. In addition to sets required to replace those worn out through use, a great many are wanted to meet the needs of the newly blinded. Approximately seven thousand adult men and women lose their sight every year. The response to this appeal has always been generous and has averaged C31,000 a year for the last five years, but these sums have not been sufficient to provide all the sets so badly needed.
