Deputy Sheriff Walt Coogan arrives in New York from Arizona to collect an escaped killer being held in custody. But he soon runs up against New York red tape and when his prisoner escapes he is taken off the case. Coogan however is determined to get his man. Clint Eastwood plays the tough cowboy cop who learns that 'this isn't the OK Corral this is New York!'.
