Twenty years ago Abba began their meteoric rise from obscure Swedish pop group to Eurovision victory and megastardom. In recent years new fans have been drawn to both their music and their glamorous 70s kitsch.

20th-anniversary programmes, John Peel investigates the mysterious but enduring appeal ofBjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid with the help of songwriters such as Elvis Costello , Ray Davies , Tim Rice and Roy Wood.
