How Do They Do That?

on BBC One London

Sports presenter Desmond Lynam moves over to entertainment in dramatic fashion by jumping from a helicopter, crashing through the roof of Television Centre and falling into the studio to present this new programme about how apparently impossible human accomplishments are achieved.
In the series, Lynam and co-presenter Jenny Hull explain such baffling technical feats as how an oil rig the size of Wembley Stadium and as high as the Eiffel Tower is positioned to within one inch of accuracy in the stormy North Sea. Plus, how investigators identified the suitcase which contained the Lockerbie bomb from among four million fragments scattered across 850 square miles. They also attempt to demystify some amazing film and TV effects - for example, how babies who can't yet walk manage to dance in unison for a TV commercial.
