A tribute to Fr Peter Dunne of St Louis, who in 1905 began a home for underprivileged newsboys. Disturbed by the poor health and hazardous life of these boys, Dunne opens up a disused house with the support of his archbishop and local businessmen.
Pat O'Brien plays the irrepressible priest who, by his openness and simple charm, kept his home going against the odds and won a decent life for boys otherwise condemned to the streets.
