Intensive Care

on BBC One London

Last in the documentary series about the real world of intensive care at Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham.
Tonight's programme focuses on how patients recover from illness and injury. Rosemary must have her face rebuilt after her car skidded on black ice. Her husband goes through the family photo albums to help the consultant with a guide to her normal appearance before he begins reconstructive surgery. Meanwhile Andrew, not normally a heavy drinker, is recovering from an overdose of alcohol. Had he been driving, he would have been at least ten times over the limit. And teenager Vanessa begins physiotherapy three weeks after she was injured in a car crash. As her responses to therapy are not normal, it is possible that she might have permanent brain damage.
