Carl Michael Bellman (1740-1795), 'the Genius of the Swedish Rococo,' was one of Sweden's greatest poets. His unique distinction is that he wrote all his verse to his own music.
Tonight's feature presents a sound picture of the man, his songs, and his colourful time. Written and narrated by PAUL BRITTEN AUSTIN with GERALD ENGLISH singing Bellman's songs accompanied by JANE RYAN (cello)
