The Late Film: Sgt Matlovich vs the US Air Force

on BBC One London

starring
Brad Dourif , Marc Singer
Leonard Matlovich was a Vietnam veteran, with an impeccable 12-year military record - until he declared his homosexuality. This, the US Air Force maintained, meant instant discharge on the alleged grounds that a gay serviceman might impair 'discipline, morale and security'. Sgt Matlovich decided to fight the judgment and face a court martial rather than accept the antiquated ruling.
This powerful television film depicts the true story of his fight against the authorities.
