Young Arthur Kipps , a struggling shop assistant, suddenly inherits a fortune and moves into the town's high society. At first he forgets his childhood sweetheart, Ann, but gradually events and the temporary loss of his fortune bring them together again in this fairytale story.
The irrepressible Tommy Steele stars in the lively and ambitious musical, based on H. G. Wells 's Kipps, which was shot on various locations throughout Britain. Among the musical numbers are 'Money to burn', 'If the rain's gotta fall' and the title song.
