Tallapoosa seed merchants; Tallapoosa Baptist church. The name was everywhere. Drawn to the American south by a poetic reminiscence, the novelist William Boyd, found the 'hick' towns disappointing, lacking any frisson or atmosphere. Then a detour brought him to Tallapoosa.
