4-The Eruption of Krakatoa by R. J. Dalby
In 1883 Mr. Dalby was sailing before the mast on a small trading barque. On August 27, when Krakatoa erupted with devastating violence, he was just touching in at Java and Sumatra. He was one of the few eye-witnesses of this tragedy lucky enough to live to describe it.
