Talk by C. E. Raven
The tide of this talk is the claim made by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus for his system of classifying natural species.
Dr. Raven examines the legend of Linnaeus which has perpetuated this claim and suggests that it exaggerates his real importance in the development of a scientific natural history. A biography of Linnaeus by Knut Hagberg has recently been published in this country.
