The Edinburgh Military Tattoo 1999

on BBC One London

Highlights from the 50th Edinburgh Military Tattoo, staged on the floodlit esplanade of Edinburgh Castle in the presence of the Princess Royal. Central to the pomp and ceremony are the traditional massed pipes and drums, while there are displays from the Barbados Defence
Force Band (accompanied by their stilt acrobats), and the South-east Missouri State
University marching band (the Golden Eagles) who are making their debut at the Tattoo. There will also be a historical pageant performed by the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, and the Mounted Band of the Life
Guards combine with the Massed Cavalry Bands in a spectacular cavalry tribute.
