TONGUE-TWISTER BEE

on Regional Programme Scotland

, Teams:
Scots v. English
Chief Twister, P. I. Keith Murray
Twist Reader, Paul Ellingham
This is another variation of the spelling-bee idea that has proved so popular with listeners. Paul Ellingham, of the studio staff in Edinburgh, whose idea this programme is, has been for the last few weeks ferreting out and learning to repeat all the most difficult sentences in the English language-the sort of traps that make sober people feel they could never by any chance pass a test at the police station!
On investigation it proved that the range of tongue-twisters is quite narrow, and listeners will probably meet a few old friends such as ' The Leith Police......' and ' Truly Rural' in the course of the programme.
The scoring rules will be explained at the beginning of the broadcast.
