Moira Lister as Sergeant Flora The story of Flora Sandes. the daughter of an English country parson, who went out to Serbia at the beginning of the First World War.
Working as a nurse, she was trapped when Serbia was overrun by the invading armies of Germany and Austria-Hungary. During the terrible retreat across the Albanian mountains she joined the army as a private soldier, rose to the rank of sergeant and was severely wounded in a hand-to-hand encounter.
