MY FRIENDS THE MOORS

on Regional Programme London

View in Radio Times

Cecil Gerahty
Brave, chivalrous, deceitful, proud, and cruel, the Moor is a mixture of good and bad qualities. But, as Cecil Gerahty points out, such terms as I cruelty' are relative rather than absolute. The Moor's treatment of animals is due as often to ignorance as to deliberate cruelty, and if he inflicts pain heedlessly he bears it stoically.
Mr. Gerahty is not blind to the faults of the Moors, but he knows them well and understands them, and the personal anecdotes he has to tell should help others to understand the Moorish character a little better.
