The Story Beneath the Sands

on BBC One London

with John Coston
The Lost Glory of Iran
In ancient times, Alexander, the young Greek hero, conquered the great Empire of Iran and then went on to conquer the world. For centuries fantastic stories have been told about Alexander and nowhere are these stories told more often or more beautifully than in Iran itself. In today's programme JOHN COSTON visits Iran and those palaces of the ancient Kings of Persia that Alexander destroyed.
