In the fourth of this week's five programmes on aspects of sound, TIM SOUSTER demonstrates how sounds from our environment can be organised into a large-scale musical structure - using as an example his composition for tape and orchestra ' Song of an Average City,' which was commissioned by the BBC and premiered by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, under Pierre Boulez at the Round House last year.
