Paul Guinery looks at the darker side of the French golden age through a selection of tombeaux- musical tombs - and evocations of shadows.
Including Ombres Errantes and the 27th order from François's harpsichord pieces played by Christophe Rousset ; his trio sonata La Sultane played by London Baroque ; and the Suite No 2 for Two Viols with Wieland Kuijken and Kaori Uemura (viols) and Robert Kohnen (harpsichord). Louis Couperin 's Tombeau de M de Blancrocher is played by Blandine Verlet (harpsichord).
