Fifty years ago Sir Robert and Lady Mayer launched Orchestral Concerts for Young People in Schools - a pioneer venture which has grown into an important national movement. This morning's young audience joins in singing Ode to Music, which schools have commissioned as a gift to the founders of the concerts.
