450 Years of Don Quixote
To mark the 450th anniversary of the birth of Miguel de Cervantes, an exploration of why Don Quixote, the book said to mark the beginnings of the novel, also mapped out the genre's possibilities and foresaw its possible ends. The distinguished Mexican novelist Carlos Fuentes reflects on his lifelong obsession with the book; celebrated Peruvian novelist Mario Vargas Llosa explains its particular significance for Latin American fiction; and American writer Robert Coover explores its inspiration for artists and all impossible dreamers.
