Match of the Day Special

on BBC One London

Introduced by Desmond Lynam from Wembley Arena.
Boxing
Frank Bruno v Pierre Coetzer
Live action as Frank Bruno continues on his comeback trail towards a world heavyweight title shot. John Emmen and Jose Ribalta were both dispatched quickly, but Coetzer should be a different proposition. He has won 39 out of his 42 fights and was the WBA No 1 contender until stopped by Riddick Bowe in Las Vegas in July. Bruno needs a convincing win to maintain his challenge. With commentary by Harry Carpenter.
Football
Highlights from two Premier League games and goals and reaction from all the other matches. Analysis and comment from Alan Hansen.
Commentary by John Motson and Barry Davies. Producer Vivien Kent
