Virgin and the Abbey
The monks and choirboys of Downside Abbey have recorded an album of Gregorian chants for record label Virgin. The company has high hopes of a Christmas hit, while the abbey hopes that the album will attract new pupils to the school. This film follows the preparations, recording and marketing as the record executives, monks and choirboys try to mix Christianity and commerce.
