Jute City

on BBC One London

Three-part mystery thriller starring actor and mimic John Sessions as a hapless, bungling Scottish private eye. David Kane , remembered for his acclaimed
Screen Two films Dream Baby and Shadow on the Earth, has written a taut conspiracy adventure in the John Buchan tradition.
In part 1, high-flying economist Duncan Kerr returns to his home town of Dundee from a career in the city which has landed him in jail. He's back to act as best man at his brother's wedding, but soon finds himself in a world more frightening than the prison he has left behind. A strong cast includes Romania's leading actor (and former vice-president) Ion Caramitru. The music is by Eurythmics star Dave Stewart.
