Kenny Wheeler , one of Britain's foremost jazz composers, was greatly influenced by both Duke
Ellington and Gil Evans , and remains one of the most original and accomplished trumpeters in the world today. Ian Carr introduces tracks from three of his most potent and lyrical albums, Gnu High (1975), Music for large and small ensembles (1990) and Kayak (1992).
