For the 100th anniversary of Neruda's birth, Brian Keenan travels to Chile to follow in the footsteps of the poet, his "spirit guide". He meets Neruda's surviving friends to explore the life and work of the poet and finds they have a lot in common, from secret childhood poetry to a love of collecting the most surprising things.
