Yesterday at a quiet and solemn ceremony in Guildhall Alderman Sir Alan Traill succeeded Dame Mary Donaldson as the 657th Lord Mayor of London. Today he makes his first public appearance in the Golden Coach amid a colourful and spectacular procession nearly two miles long through the streets of the City.
Thousands of people will line the route to see the 14 bands, over 60 floats and contingents from the three Services, all portraying the new Lord Mayor's theme 'Living with Harmony'.
